What's needed

We want a thorough review conducted by an independent urban planner (Virginia Jackson) of all open space and all dog by laws, with the end view of creating a more equitable and harmonious use of shared open space (see maps page).  We want this review to be conducted with true community consultation.

 Some possible strategies include:-

  • Timed zones (by time and/or by season)
  • Installation of natural and man-made boundaries to delineate space/Flexibility of the 50 metre bylaw
  • Designated dog park with dog play/agility equipment
  • Designated parks for particular dog type
  • Dog owner representation on relevant committees/working parties

and most importantly:-

To help strengthen our communities we would also like community noticeboards erected in parks.

Why do the needs of the largest single group of park users always come last?
